About

I’m Sarah Mak, a narrative designer and writer from Singapore. I write and design story-rich video games and interactive fiction.

My interactive fiction game, You Can’t Save Her, competed in the 2024 Interactive Fiction Competition. You can play it on Itch.io.

I have also written poetry. I made some interactive poems with Twine—and this inspired me to learn more about interactive storytelling. If you’re interested in my page poetry though, my poems have been published in several journals and anthologies, such as Quarterly Literary Review Singapore, Eunoia Review, and Silver Birch Press. I’m a member of zer0sleep, a writing collective supported by Sing Lit Station.

Other than that, I just graduated with a Communication Studies degree from the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), with a specialisation in Broadcast and Cinema Studies. I also have minors in Creative Writing and Film.

What I’m Doing Now

Currently, this is what I spend my time doing:

  • Figuring out how to min-max my money without losing my mind
  • Planning my next projects and what I should do career-wise
  • Learning how to do strength training properly
